SKILL ASSESSMENT
There are number of different assessing authorities approved from the Department of Immigration and Border Control to undertake the skill assessment for the migration purpose. Skill Assessing authorities are independent to set their own criteria for the recognizing the skill, attributes and experience of applicant. To apply for General Skill Migration (GSM) visa, applicant must have positive/suitable skill assessment from his/her nominated occupation.
The processing time of skill assessment application vary from one skill assessing authority to other. Most skill assessing authorities endeavours to finalise skill assessment application in 12 weeks time from the date of assessment application. The assessing authorities charges fees for undertaking skill assessment process.
