Overview
Allows the partner (spouse or de facto) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia permanently. Applied for as an offshore (Subclass 309/100) or onshore (Subclass 820/801) combination of a temporary and permanent visa.
Eligibility Requirements
Married to, or in a genuine and continuing de facto relationship with, an eligible Australian sponsor.
Relationship is genuine, with evidence of shared finances, a shared household and social recognition.
Sponsor meets sponsorship eligibility and limitation requirements.
Both partners are generally aged 18 or over.
Meet health and character requirements.
Onshore applicants (820/801) generally must hold a substantive visa at the time of application.
